There's nothing that I'd take back, but it's hard to say there's nothing I regret.

When asked Frída wouldn't exactly categorize her childhood as ideal. She was brought into the world a few days before Christmas in the small town of Vogar in southern Iceland on December 23, 1989 along with her twin brother, Óskar, to Brynja Baldursdóttir (an art teacher) and Páll Sindrisson (a well-known and accomplished writer). It was a huge surprise for the couple to find out that they weren't only expecting one unexpected baby, but two. The couple had never wed and the discussion had never taken place prior to the dreadful day at the clinic when the news was confirmed. Páll was ten years older than Brynja and terrified of the idea of getting married at such a young age, but found himself wanting to do the right thing for the possible future of their family; however, something stopped him from acting on the absurd voices in his head. Páll tried his best to adapt to his new found fatherhood once the twins were welcomed into the world, but found himself struggling with the task. It wasn't but two years into it that he decided he had too much and found himself leaving without so much as a goodbye. The twins witnessed their father walk out the door and never to return - the sight of his back was the last image Frída remembers to this day and still hasn't found the nerve to forgive her father for leaving them the way that he had, no matter how hard he tries to reach out to them. Her mother was only twenty years old and struggled to raise two young children by herself, despite the help that she received from her family members.

Frída's mother always gushed about how talented her daughter was, claiming that she was able to sing before walk - though a number of people would only nod and smile and not buy the words coming out of her mouth. It wasn't until the age of fourteen that Frída picked up a microphone for the first and decided that this was exactly what she was made to do. Growing up, Frída dedicated most of her time and energy attending music school in order to perfect the craft that she ultimately chose to be involved in. As she was growing up her mother was her biggest fan, often helping her create these little concerts in their living room for her mamma and her close friends. Her mother even went as far as to design her some cute little outfit made out of a lot of glitter and sequence, as well as, gathering up house lamps in order to create a makeshift spotlight - it had become apparent that Frída was comfortable, and very much in love with, being the center of attention and performing in front of a large crowd. Frída had always been a creative child and very quickly realized that she wanted to try her hand at writing her own songs. She's always been a huge fan of poetry, not so much reading it, but writing it she had grown to be very fond of.

Before Lionheart was established Frída was apart of a solo project called Songbirg, which really launched her into the spotlight. It didn't take long for Frída to expand from her Songbird phase and recruit five members to join her in her band, one of which included her long-time best friend. Lionheart was created with five daydreamers who crafted indie pop, folk songs - however, in the last couple of years the group turned into a pack of rock stars when they stomped out their competition during Músiktilraunir in their native country of Iceland, the yearly battle of the bands. The band signed with Republic Records in February 2011 for the release of their debut album, My Head Is An Animal, in Iceland. It didn't take long before their first single "Little Talks" propelled the band into nationwide popularity. The success was absurd to Frída considering she didn't have any dreams or desire to be known nationwide and simply wanted to make it in Iceland as an Icelandic musician. It wasn't even fathomable to her that Universal wanted to sign their band in order to release their debut album worldwide. Lionheart released their extended-play album, Into The Woods EP, in late 2011, which featured four of their songs on their debut album as sort of a way to test the waters and see how well it was received in the United States before they later released their debut album four months later in April 2012. The band had the opportunity to play at a number of festivals in 2012, which gained them more recognition. They also had the opportunity to tour and see a number of different European countries such as: Ireland, Germany, Italy, and Sweden - the number of people that came out to see their shows was absolutely mind blowing to little Frída. The band was given the opportunity to play at the T in the Park festival, which is the biggest music festival in Scotland. Once the band gained a little recognition in the United States the entire band made the bold move to relocate in New York City; however, the often travel back to Iceland and find themselves favouring the European side of their tour.

Lionheart considers themselves to be different that the rest of the music that's already circulating the nation. For inspiration the young group pulls from various stories that they have heard during their time on earth. The chanting and tribal "Six Weeks" was inspired by the story of Hugh Glass, an American Frontiersman, who was seemingly left for dead a bear had attacked him. Another epic story can be depicted in the bands song "From Finner", which is about a whale that has a house on it's back that allows people to travel across the ocean in order to seek adventure and explore different places. However, grizzly bear attacks and riding on the back of a whale aren't the only thing that this very diverse and creative band gather inspiration from, they also dig a little bit deeper. Their number one song "Little Talks" explores loneliness and insanity, while their song "Love Love Love" touches on heartbreak - their songs aren't always uplifting, but a majority of them are meant to be fun to sing along to.
personality

Frída has always been extremely grounded and independent. She watched her mother struggle at such a young age to raise two small kids that it really caused her to want to help in any way that she saw fit. She's a complete homebody and often finds herself more comfortable with staying at home than going out and tearing up the town. She often finds herself wanting to pick up that role model title and wants to be a good one to the younger generation, it warms her heart to know that she's touched lives of a few and that her fans idolize her. Despite the fame that she was handed, she continue to keep a level head on her shoulders and prides herself on not getting too wrapped up in the quick success she's been given.
