Iceland was extremely cold, it felt colder than it had been since the last time Frída had flown home to see her family; however, this time it was a bit different with her tag-a-long partner right beside her. He was probably nervous to meet her parents, unsure of how they might take to him no matter how often Frída tried to put his mind to rest. The ride to her old home was quite silent and it wasn't the comfortable silence either. It caused her knees to shake from anxiety and nervousness. She knew her parents were very understanding and they often liked the men that she brought home to meet them, but would they like him? Would her stern father find him suitable for his only daughter? The endless questions seemed to nag at her, but she immediately pushed the thoughts of how her father might handle things. He was vacant for most of her life until recently when fame seemed to hit her. In her eyes his opinion was null and void and he didn't have much of a say in what kind of man she kept company with.

For what seemed and felt like eternity the vehicle finally came to a halt as she stared at the average-sized home that she grew up in. "We're here..." she spoke softly, unaware of how soft her voice actually was, but lacked interest in repeating herself louder. Each step felt like she had bricks tied to her feet, she wasn't sure why she was having this type of reaction considering she often got excited to see her family. As if she was a stranger to this home, she rang the doorbell - her hand holding his as she waited anxiously for her mother to open the door. "Hæ mamma, það er svo gott að sjá þig aftur," she responded in her native language with a smile after her mother opened up the door and welcomed her with open arms. Inside smelled just as she remembered - her mothers cooking. She somehow knew what time Frída would be arriving and easily remembered what her favourite dish was. Tears seemed to well in her eyes as an entire wave of emotion overcame her. It was then that her mother took her into her arms and allowed Frída to break down against her shoulder. It had been a long while since she was able to visit her family and whenever she was afforded the opportunity - she took advantage of it.
